Michael Murr is a distinguished figure with a career that spans over three decades in property development and construction. A Chartered Professional Engineer, he holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, exemplifying his commitment to professional excellence.
Since joining the Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce (ALCC) in 1996, Michael has been an invaluable asset. He served as a Director from 1997 to 2002 and has been the Treasurer since 2002. His tenure is marked by his instrumental role in acquiring two properties that now serve as the Chamber’s permanent offices. In addition, Michael has generously sponsored office space for the ALCC for over 20 years.
Beyond his administrative roles, Michael has actively participated in ALCC’s Trade Missions to Lebanon and the Middle East. He was also pivotal in fundraising efforts for Rural Aid Australia during the drought crisis, contributing AUD $60,000 through the ALCC.
Michael’s community service is equally commendable. A member of the Lions Club since 1990, he served as Treasurer until 1994. In this role, he was instrumental in raising significant funds for Canterbury Hospital and various charitable organizations.
